2019 Hume and Hovell Track

Counting down the days now until our Saturday start on the Hume and Hovell Track. Food caching done, and packing all our gear into our packs is set for Wednesday night. This leaves us the little fiddly bits such as identifying and marking out water sources and creating a contact list for the relevant services. Really its two lists, one into the phone and Garmin inReach, and the other a paper copy just in case my electronics die.
That’s the easy bit as I also need to schedule posts for the website and Facebook as well as set up the templates for the podcasts on my iPad to minimise the work out on trail. Not a difficult task usually but I have big fingers and editing audio files on an iPad Mini is not as easy as doing it on my laptop …. and it does take longer.
It’s always the fiddly stuff that takes the time so doing as much as possible prior to the trip makes the job easier; the hiking is the easy bit!
