My first rest day today and while I don’t need it physically my next section is 10 days to Quorn so I need today to release the first of the on trail podcasts.
I had a really bad night sleep last night and only dropped of after 2:00am. Strangely enough I don’t feel tired and that because I have had long, if broken slopes, over the past few days.
I stopped in at the reception this morning after they opened and my food resupply box is t looking good so I’ll check later today but this means I’m going to be purchasing food from the IGA supermarket to getting me through the 3 days to reach Hawker and hopefully pick up my resupply box or to purchase more food. Lesson learned I need to physically phone to make sure the resupply box has arrived! I checked out what was on offer when I went up and purchased my breakfast and while I’m expecting no change to my food box I’ll check just in case before I go and purchase more food.
Today I’m spending most of the time doing social media and putting together and releasing my first on trail podcast. Most people who were here last night have gone to it’s very quiet at the moment. Speaking of quiet my bathroom wins opens out onto a small enclosed alley way and the sound echo’s. It wast a problem last night but there are just some conversations that you should hear and believe me I wasn’t trying.
One of the tasks that I undertook this morning was to find out where to access the trail in the morning as given I have a 27km day I will be starting at 6:00am for what will end up being a 9ish hour walk to may campsite. Given the food issue I will work through the next section to Quorn to see if I can even out the days, distance wise, as I have a 16km day and a 34km day which I need to average out a bit.
You can see where I will be able to see where I’m at the following link:

If you have any questions about my journey drop me an email at info@australianhiker.com.au and I will reply when I can within the whims of the internet signal which will be erratic on the northern end of the trail so it may be several days before I can respond.
