2019 Hume and Hovell Track

Not the weather we were expecting!

One of the reasons we chose to walk the Hume and Hovell track at the beginning of September was to avoid the worst of the cold weather, including potential snow falls, and the heat that starts to impact hikers from around October onwards. The snow appears to be gone now although we still expect some cold nights. What has been a bit of a surprise is the forecast for Wee Jasper, around five days into the hike, is for 23º Celcius which is starting to get on the warm side for my liking but of course, this is still within the average temperature range. Given the choice, I prefer the temperature around 15-17º Celcius.

Along with the heat, the snakes will also be out and about in full force looking for a mate. Oh joy!
