2022 Great Ocean Walk

The countdown begins!
Great Ocean Walk
Great Ocean Walk

Its Sunday 7 August 2022 and in three weeks time Gill and I will be starting our walk on Victoria’s 100 km(ish) Great Ocean Walk. This walk has been in our sights for a number of years and due to the 2019-20 fires and COVID, it has been pushed back several times. Earlier this year when I did the East Gippsland Rail Trail, the Great Ocean Walk was one of my options but Gill vetoed me doing it because she also wanted to experience this popular Victorian coastal trail.

This walk is designed to be done east to west and is recommended as an eight day walk. As such, the designated campsites are set out at reasonably close spacing ranging from around 10 km to 16 km part and are designed to suit most walkers.

Over the coming weeks we will provide you with various insights into our preparation for this walk and as on-trail communications allow, we will be posting from the trail and sharing our experiences with you.
