Most, if not all, of the tops I wear are merino. It such a versatile, hard wearing and soft fabric – you can’t go wrong.
The Merino Max 260 Long Sleeved Crew Neck top is another quality product from Wilderness Wear – Aussie made, by an Aussie company.
This top is 100% Australian merino and is super cosy to wear. Merino is a great fabric that wicks moisture and is odour resistant.
It feels more like a lightweight jumper than a top so is ideal as an outer layer during cool spring and autumn days. I’ve been wearing this top during my late afternoon lockdown exercise walks and it handles the early spring cool temps with ease.
The Merino Max 260 Long Sleeved Crew Neck top is stylish and fits well. The sleeves are a generous length for my slightly-longer-for-my-size-arms and I don’t feel the urge to constantly tug at my sleeves the way I do when wearing other tops. The body length is also generous which is a feature of Wilderness Wear clothing – great for taller people.
The other feature worth mentioning is the additional underarm panel. Rather than having a seam that runs straight up under the armpit, this additional panelling makes this top very comfortable even on long days. Combined with the flat lock stitching, this top is great for a range of outdoor activities.
Colour-wise you’re limited to black but that’s a small compromise for a merino top that only costs AUD $150!
In terms of sizing – I wear a 10 and the fit is great. The fit is ‘slim’ but there’s still room to move.
I tend to ignore the garment care instructions when washing my garments as I did in this case. Again, this top survived the dryer test despite advice from Wilderness Wear not to! I’m happy to report that another Wilderness Wear top is holding up very well.
I can’t flaw the Merino Max 260 Long Sleeved Crew Neck top – a great top for those who feel the cold or those for those cool spring and autumn days.
