I was provided with a pair of the Zorali Men’s Venture Pants over a year ago and I’ve been wearing them on and off ever since. Finally I decided it was time to release a review and in all honesty I’m glad that I took the extended time to do the testing.
I originally opted for the men’s size 38 but due to my hip issues and lack of exercise I had shifted up to a size 40 in time that followed! The pants managed to cater for the increased weight but I was pushing the stretch waist band to its limit. The sizing is a true fit and if anything, the pants are very forgiving due to the stretch wait band. The leg length is also generous and I found my size 38 didn’t leave me with naked ankles as so many other pants do. With any other pairs of pants if you put on weight there will come a time when you have no choice but to size up. With the Zorali Men’s Venture Pants if your weight goes up one size, or for that matter down a size, you can still wear them!
In my case the additional weight I was carrying combined with the design of the pants not having an opening clasp and fly at the front meant when I needed to urinate I had no option but to pull my pants down. Now I know that this is something that females have to deal with more often than not but as a male, it wasn’t something I’ve had to deal with before.
Fast forward a year and I had dropped just on 7kg in weight and with that my size 38 pants fit as they should. Along with that I can urinate without having to pull my pants down. The take away from this is that if you are in-between sizes I suggest going to the larger size as the stretch waist band and built in belt will take up any slack.
These pants are made from 100% recycled nylon and the pockets are Cordura. This material choice provides for very robust and durable construction and because of the material recycling these pants are reasonably environmentally friendly. However, I found the pants to be overly hot for weather over 27° Celcius given they generate ‘heat’ and in my case cause a heat rash so they aren’t a year round pair of pants. The reverse also applies given nylon pants are very lightweight in construction sthey are excellent for cooler conditions but not snow conditions. Given all this, these pants are perfect for the shoulder seasons.
Overall I found these pants to be a great option and while I won’t wear them on very hot days, I do find myself gravitating towards them particularly when I’ve put on weight as they are forgiving in that department.
