Toaks 750ml Titanium Cooking Pot Review

For many years I’ve been using an integrated canister stove for my solo hiking adventures but recently I started reviewing every aspect of my gear with the view to seeing if I still needed to carry everything on my multi-day hiking list, and if I did, could I loose any weight out of my pack.

The end result is that I did indeed decide to opt for a canister stove, the MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe which has always a strong performer but this left me with a decision on what pot to use. I had heard good things about the Toaks brand over the years so after doing a bit of research thats what I decided to opt for. The decision then became what size to choose.

My integrated stove that I have previously used for my solo hikes had a 800ml pot so I decided that the Toaks 750ml Titanium Cooking Pot was a very close match. I know pretty much how much water I use in the evening which is my big use period and on an 800ml boil I always has some water left over when I filled the pot to 750ml would work out perfectly. The full capacity of this pot is 760mls. To boil water 750mls is the maximum. Keep an eye out for when it boils so the pot doesn’t overflow. While I’m still on size I managed to fit my stove stabiliser, a small gas canister and the MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe Stove into the pot, just. If you are using a large gas canister you may not need the stabiliser but you definitly do when using a small canister.

When I say just there is a slight gap on the lid but when but when I put the pot back into its travel bag it worked well. The end result was a very compact unit that was smaller and lighter than my integrated unit. Weight wise this pot, included its travel bag weights in at 120 grams, without the bag it weights in at 103 grams.

Feature wise this pot comes with folding handles and a lid as well as the previously mentioned orange mesh carry bag. Like most cooking post these days it also has measurement marks which are meant to be read on the inside but are also visible from the outside (In reverse) but are handy when the light is a bit low. In addition if you are a Toaks fan and are using other pots and cups you will be able to nest them inside/ outside of this pot. The metal handles do heat up, but also cool down quickly, so there are two options to deal with this. Firstly leave to pay handles to cool for a minute after boiling, or secondly use the orange mesh travel bag as a pot holder, yet another reason for carrying the storage bag! One final comment I would make its that I’ve sen a number of features listed on retail sites that say this pot has a ‘lockable lid’ but in the one that turned up for me that wasn’t the case and the Toaks US website doesn’t list this as a feature.

Overall a great little pot that has helped to complete a very compact stove kit and one that now forms part of solo hiking kit.

We Like

  • A great compact solo hiking pot
  • You can store the store a small gas canister, canister stand, and canister stove inside this pot (just)
  • Comes with its own compact mesh storage bag
  • Foldable handles
  • Titanium construction makes for a lightweight and corrosion resistant pot

We Don't Like

  • Given the size this is really a pot for solo hikers only
  • Handles can get hot

Toaks 750ml Titanium Pot

Nested stove and canister inside pot. In my case I have also added a stove stabiliser base which means that the lid doesn’t quite close but when put in the orange mesh sack it stays put

Toaks 750ml Titanium Pot in storage sack. This become a very small unit with the stove and gas nested inside

Best Uses

  • Great size for solo hikers
