Coleman King Cooler Arm Chair Review
Another piece of gear that you aren’t going to be carrying in your backpack however if you are base camping, then this is a great seating option.
No matter what sort of camping you do, unless you are always choosing sites that have furniture you are going to need a chair of some sort. In our case we originally bought our Coleman King Cooler Arm Chairs for use at music festivals but they have now become our preferred hiking chairs when we’re not trying to go light and fast.
The Coleman King Cooler Arm Chairs are by no means a lightweight chair weighing in at 4kg each so if you do have a small car and space is at a premium, these chairs may not be for you. If on the other hand you like a comfy chair and are on the larger size then this chair is a great option having a user capacity of 130kg. The seat on this chair is also generous and while I weigh 106kg at the time of this review, I find it’s pretty comfortable for extended sitting periods. Its rare that Gill and I agree on seating – we are different heights and sizes but on this occasion Gill, who is 165cm, is also comfortable sitting in this chair.
This chair has two cup/can holders which suit cans really well or narrower cups such as the Thermos Stainless King Travel Mug or similar. The arm on the left side of the chairs has a ‘zipped cool pocket’ which can be packed with ice or small freezer blocks to keep your drink cool in the hot weather. I must admit I tend not to use this feature finding I generally finish my drink faster than it can heat up but the feature is there if you want to use it.
The Coleman King Cooler Arm Chair folds up quickly into its carry bag for easy transport and storage when the adventure is over. As mentioned, not the smallest chair when packed down but it does work for larger vehicles.
Overall this is a great chair when space isn’t a premium in your vehicle and comfort is what you’re seeking.
