Australia’s highest peaks

Facts

Australia’s highest peaks are all located in Kosciuszko National Park in relative proximity to Mt Kosciuszko but  what are Australia’s highest peaks by state and territory?

  • ACT – Mt Bimberi 1912m
  • NSW –  Mt Kościuszko 2228m- Australia’s highest peak
  • NT – Mt Zeil 1531m
  • QLD –  Mt Bartle Frere 1611m
  • SA – Mt Woodroffe 1435m
  • TAS – Mt Ossa 1617
  • VIC –  Mt Bogong 1986m
  • WA – Mt Meharry 1253m

Now if we extend this to our external territories and take in the Australian Antarctic Territory, Australia’s highest peak becomes Mt McClintock 3490m
