Top Walks in Victoria 3rd Edition Guidebook Review
I only just purchased this book recently with the decision to do so driven by my plan to spend a week in Victoria in 2027 undertaking a series of short day hikes ( 1-12km). So after doing a bit of searching I decided on the Top Walks in Victoria 3rd Edition Guidebook as any book thats is into a 3rd edition must be doing something right,
This guidebook breaks Victoria up into regions which I find really helpful as in my particular case I want to focus on 1-2 regions that are close by for my planned walks rather than travelling over the whole state. Most of these walks are spread over 4-6 pages and start with providing key details which I find really handy including tips, difficulty, food amongst others. There is also a map that comes with each walk and while its not one that you would use for navigation it shows the walks relationship to the area its located in and provided an overview of its shape eg ‘loop’. The description then goes into finer details about you are seeing and this also includes some longer multi day walks that also identifies things campsites including suggestion that you pick particular campsite in some instance and explains the reason for the recommendation.
Photo wise each of these walks comes with a handful of key photos which are designed to highlight why you should do it. While I would prefer more images, that’s just me and I do realise that it would add extra pages, extra weight, and extra costs so there does need to be a balance and I think that this guidebook has done well in that department.
Price wise, this book sells for AUD $36.99 RRP which is typical for this style of guidebook although you can often find this at a discounted price. I’m really happy that I chose the Top Walks in Victoria 3rd Edition Guidebook and will get good use out of it when I get down to Victoria but in then meantime this guidebook will allow me to do some forward planning to get the best out of my proposed adventure.

- Provides a good set of short and sharp information on each walk along with extended information and maps
We Don't Like
- A few more photos for each walk would be nice but that’s just me being picky!
