Belkin BoostCharge USB-C Portable Charger 10000 mAh Power Bank Review

For my shorter overnight hikes of no ore than 1-2 days I will still carry a power bank but opt for a small capacity and sized unit just in case given so many of my electronic units are rechargeable.

This little unit is similar in size to an iPhone and slightly thicker and heavier at 226 grams. The best way to think about this power bank is that you are carrying a second phone. The case on this unit like many other brands has rounded corners as opposed to the angular hard surfaces that many other battery packs on the market still have. On occasion I have had both my iPhone and my power bank in one pocket charging my phone after heavy use and it didn’t feel uncomfortable.

The Belkin BoostCharge USB-C Portable Charger 10000 mAh Power Bank allows you to charge four devices with USB-C, in fact I can charge my iPhone 15 to 50% capacity with Fast Charge from 0-50% in 23 minutes which is pretty amazing. I like having the ability to charge multiple devices at the same time if I need and with different port options to cover all my bases. In addition to my hiking needs, it’s not unusual that this unit will be charged, go into a cupboard and when I pull it back out again eight months later to use again, its still fully charged and ready to go.

The Belkin BoostCharge USB-C Portable Charger 10000 mAh Power Bank has a 10,000 mAh capacity which gives you the ability to charge your smartphone up to two times (this depends on the phone), and roughly one full charge on a tablet. Social media is the big drain for me as a blogger so typically I will travel with my phone in flight mode and only turn it on when I absolutely need. I have found that this power bank will allow me to actively respond to social media and top up all electronics identified above for around 3-4 days provided I started with my devices on full charge.

As an added safety feature this power bank has surge protection so you don’t need to stress about destroying your electronics.

One downside of this unit is that the capacity lights are indicative only and I do like a unit that shows the actual percentage.

One last comment is that good quality cables will help to protect your valuable electronics so don’t stint on the charging cables just to save a few dollars.

We Like

  • Compact soft feel case. The rounded corners mean you can sit this unit in your pocket and it feels just like a phone
  • Charge metre so you know how much power you have left
  • Charge three devices at one time
  • Will last most people, including heavy users for 7-8+ days depending on their power usage – in my case 3-4 days

We Don't Like

  • You may need multiple cables depending on your charging needs but this is going to be the case with any charger
  • Well priced for a unit of this size and capacity

Best Uses

A versatile power bank that will quickly charge compatible tablets as well as just the little stuff like phones, cameras and GPSs for shorter trips
