A type of camping, which involves driving rather than walking to a campsite. In practice what this means is that the choice of camp sites is based on the ability of your vehicle you are driving and the types of roads.
Relying on a vehicle to transport camping gear means that you have access to more luxuries such as bigger tents, more complex cooking set ups and camp furniture often too heavy and bulky for individuals to carry in a pack on your back when hiking.
